Lee Cemetery No. 1
Pearl River County, Mississippi
The Lee Cemetery No. 1 is located in Mississippi off Highway 26 west of the Pearl River County and Stone County border. To find this cemetery from points east, drive 13 miles west from Wiggins, MS on Highway 26. Turn left on Red Hill Church Road. The cemetery is on Red Hill Church Road on the left. From other points, take exit 29 off I-59 onto Highway 26 east. Drive 9 miles and turn right on Red Hill Church Road.
On June 27, 2004 Howard Baulch visited this cemetery and took photos of the tombstones. Howard's great-grandparents, Thomas Uriah Lee and Elizabeth Williams Lee, are buried here as well as many in the extended Lee family. Thomas Uriah and Elizabeth Lee were the parents of Howard's grandmother, Rosa Lee. The transcriptions and tombstone photos are presented below. Comments in parentheses are not on the tombstone and are additional information offered by the author.
