Nicholas Howard Stone was born March 4, 1830 in Gallatin, Sumner Co., TN, and died March 13, 1900 in Gallatin, Sumner Co., TN. He was the son of Nicholas Stone and Elizabeth Loving. He first married Sarah Jane Gourley on March 13, 1856 in Sumner Co., TN, daughter of John Gourley and Harriet Giles. She was born August 13, 1835 in Sumner Co., TN, and died July 17, 1869 in Sumner Co., TN. A year after her death, Nicholas married Mary Elizabeth Hanna on May 4, 1870 in Bethpage, Sumner Co., TN, daughter of Abner Lee Hanna and Mary Jane Parker. She was born April 12, 1844 in Bethpage, Sumner Co., TN, and died February 5, 1909 in Gallatin, Sumner Co., TN. All three are buried in the Stone-Baulch Cemetery, north of Gallatin, Sumner Co., TN.
