The Pine Grove Cemetery is located southeast of Alexandria in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. To find this cemetery from downtown Alexandria on Main Street, take Louisiana Highway 107 south for eleven and one-half miles. Turn right on LA-454, and drive a little over five miles. You will see the cemetery and the Pine Grove Baptist Church on your left. Turn left on Pine Grove Cemetery Road, and the cemetery is on your left.
On June 29, 2004 Howard Baulch visited this cemetery and took photos of selected tombstones. Howard's second-great-grandparents, Amos Gibson and Dorcas McDermott, and some of their descendants are buried here. The transcriptions and tombstones are presented below.
