Thomas Uriah Lee, Sr. was born July 22, 1841 in Poplarville, Marion Co., MS, and died July 21, 1923 in Poplarville, Pearl River Co., MS. He was the son of John Riley Lee and Arsenith Seale. He married Elizabeth Williams January 02, 1863 in Harrison Co., MS, daughter of John Jefferson Williams and Elizabeth Davis. She was born March 09, 1842 in Perry Co., MS, and died January 03, 1938 in Lee's Mill, Pearl River Co., MS.

Elizabeth Lee twice filed for Uriah's Confederate Pension, first on June 15, 1913 declaring Uriah to be an invalid, and again on September 20, 1921 claiming that she is now a widow. Note that this date conflicts with the date of death recorded on Uriah's tombstone.
