- 2/10/2007 - We fly into Guatemala City and drive the three and one-half hours to Mazatenango where we will stay at the Hotel Bambú during our mission.
- 2/11/2007 - We overcome jet lag and then go to Iglesia Metodista Fuente de Vida for worship.
- 2/12/2007 - We set up dentist Robin and doctor Art in the clinic we built last year. In La Toma we are treated to a welcoming celebration by the local school children and their teachers. We then begin our portion of the construction to expand the size of the school, building and raising trusses and cutting and installing purlins.
- 2/13/2007 - Work continues on the trusses and purlins, and we begin to treat the decking lumber.
- 2/14/2007 - Work continues on the purlins and decking lumber treatment, we begin the porch beams and decking, and we pour the bond beam for the gable end of the classroom addition.
- 2/15/2007 - Purlins, decking and porch layout continue, and we finish decking the classroom addition. We hold Bible School for 120 children with singing, a story and a craft - the necklace craft is a big hit!
- 2/16/2007 - The dental and medical team relocate to Iglesia Metodista El Rey de Gloria today. We start decking on the second story of the structure we built last year, complete the porch layout, and hang fascia boards and fly rafters. We hold day two of Bible School and discover that the tissue paper Jesus fish is a time consuming craft for many of the children.
- 2/17/2007 - It is Saturday, and we rest from our labors with a trip to Lake Atilan.
- 2/18/2007 - We worship at Iglesia Metodista El Rey de Gloria and celebrate Pastor Felix's birthday with a tamale dinner.
- 2/19/2007 - We contine the decking, pour the bond beams for the second floor gable ends and start laying the aluminum. We hold day three of Bible School, and the children are doing much better with the songs!
- 2/20/2007 - Today is Mardi Gras, and it is a school holiday. We finish all decking and the aluminum on the classroom addition. We start the aluminum on the second floor and begin a thorough clean out of the second floor space. We hold our final day of Bible School and give each child a baseball cap as a memento.
- 2/21/2007 - We finish the aluminum on the second floor roof (getting a few cuts along the way) and finish cleaning out the second floor. The children hold a celebration for us, and we are humbled by their gifts of love. Before we leave the area, we install the x-ray equipment at the clinic.
- 2/22/2007 - We say farewell to Hotel Bambú and head to Antigua for an afternoon of sightseeing and shopping.
- 2/23/2007 - We drive back to Guatemala City for our flights home.
