Click on a date below to see the photos from that day. While the photos are presented on the correct day, they are not all presented in chronological order, because mission team members had different time settings on their cameras.
- 2/8/2008 - Having arrived on Thursday, Woody and Robin survey construction progress on Friday.
- 2/9/2008 - The rest of the team flies to Guatemala and settles in at the Hotel Bambú in Mazatenango. During the day Woody plans the two weeks with Pastor Felix.
- 2/10/2008 - Everyone visits the clinic where we will continue construction of a home for the nurse. We then worship at Fuente de Vida Iglesia Metodista with Pastor Manuel and his congregation.
- 2/11/2008 - We journey to Chuisayamac where we will spend our first week in mission. The dental team sets up in the clinic, and the construction team starts work on the rafters and purlins for the roof of the first house.
- 2/12/2008 - The dental team continues seeing patients, while the construction team almost completes the roof for the first home.
- 2/13/2008 - In short order, the roof for the first home is completed, and the construction team moves to the second house.
- 2/14/2008 - Construction progresses more quickly on the second house. We need today's concrete pour to set, before we can complete its roof. We move on to the third house to get started in the late afternoon.
- 2/15/2008 - We quickly finish the roof of the second home and spend the remainder of the day on the third home in Chuisayamac. We don't quite finish the purlins before we must leave.
- 2/16/2008 - It's Saturday which means a time for rest and relaxation. We journey to Chichicastenango for the weekend. We shop at Ruth and Naomi's, a Methodist cooperative for widows and orphans, and spend the night at Casa Del Rey.
- 2/17/2008 - We shop at the famous open market in Chichi, visit some churches, and a couple of us tour a sacred Mayan site.
- 2/18/2008 - In week two we go to the clinic situated midway between San Antonio Barrio Dos and La Toma. The dental team sets up with better facilities, and the construction team begins work on the rafters and purlins for the nurse's home. In the afternoon some of the team go to Fuente de Vida to have Bible School with about 70 children.
- 2/19/2008 - The dental team has patients waiting when we arrive. The construction team continues work on the roof, and bible school is held at Fuente de Vida with 125 children.
- 2/20/2008 - Masses of people everywhere! The dental team is jammed with patients, and Bible School is held for 160 children. Despite a couple of afternoon rain showers, the roof of the nurse's home is complete!
- 2/21/2008 - We journey to Antigua, the historic capital of Guatemala, for nachos at Frida's and a little sightseeing.
- 2/22/2008 - Most of the group hike Volcano Pacaya today. Everyone does a little shopping and sightseeing.
