Seven Volunteer Crews from
Indian Run United Methodist Church
Dublin, Ohio
The photos in this presentation are primarily of the crew of Howard, Logan, Rachel, Ryan, Sally, Sara and Ty. This crew worked next door to another crew Monday through Wednesday, with two other crews on Thursday, and with one other crew on Friday. Photos were taken by Howard, Ryan, Sally and Sara. - 7/18/2010 - Crews drive from Dublin, Ohio to an area known as Mulberry Gap, near Sneedville, Tennessee. We settle into our new "home" for the week, enjoy the view and make new friends.
- 7/19/2010 - We get our drinking water from a local spring, remove damaged subflooring on The Honeymooners project (no photos), and get refreshed at the Hardees in Sneedville.
- 7/20/2010 - We continue at The Honeymooners today with damaged subfloor (and associated adhesive), band joist and base plate removal. We also remove some of the paneling to assess the damage to the wall studs.
- 7/21/2010 - Today we start restoration with the addition of a new base plate, new band joist, new floor joists, and new subflooring. Some photos were also taken at the project next door. Tonight is Culture Night in Jonesville, Virginia.
- 7/22/2010 - Today we are asked to move to project Smokey to assist two other teams with putting new OSB up on the exterior walls, hanging ceiling drywall, putting new structural floor support in a bathroom and installing a mini-ramp threshold. Tonight is the picnic with some of our ASP families.
- 7/23/2010 - After Sally takes a few photos of the lovely women's showers at the center this morning, we are asked to move to project Fez to assist another team with constructing a wheelchair ramp. Tonight we take on the other church at our center in a dodgeball competition. We win the game, but the real winner was raising about $500 for a septic system for a needy family!
- 7/24/2010 - Ryan takes a couple of photos of the lovely men's showers at the center before we load up the van and head back to Ohio.
